Jobs for our MSc graduates

You want to know what happened to the students after they graduated from the MSc Real Estate Management and the MSc International Real Estate last year? Fortunately, Nick French keeps a close watch on what his ex-students are up to. And our employment statistics are looking great!

The MSc students (2011-12 programme) on a field trip to Birmingham

MSc Real Estate Management
Of the 27 students who graduated in 2012, 25 of them now have real estate or real estate related employment in the UK or overseas. What happened to the other two? One went back to architecture and the other set up his own business (a tennis school, I believe).

MSc International Real Estate
There were 6 graduates from this programme in 2012 and four of them are working in real estate either overseas or in the UK. The remaining two are taking time out to do some travelling before entering the world of work.

The major real estate consultancies are employing our graduates. The destinations of the 2012 graduates include: Jones Lang Lasalle, DTZ, Savills, Gerald Eve, GVA, Deloitte Drivers Jonas, Cushman & Wakefield  and Montagu Evans.

Our graduates are also invited to join the Oxford Brookes Real Estate Management group on LinkedIn which had 643 members at the last count. As well as helping our graduates keep in touch with each other and build their own networks, the group keeps them up-to-date with alumni events and job vacancies. The Department uses the group discussion boards to gather feedback, allowing our alumni to input into programme content and design. Group members also use the discussion boards as a problem solving tool - after all 643 heads are better than one.

And now for some more good news...several of the students who started the MSc in September 2012 have already been offered jobs for when they graduate later on this year. Our students are evidently in demand.
